Recycle Photographs for Digital Art it’s a great idea! I like to recycle old photographs to use in my digital art installations. I use my own photos or those from free stock photo websites or Wikimedia photos which are free to use. Wiki always has interesting images and they are large enough to manipulate without consequences.

The featured artwork is called  Victoria Crater Refuse from the Urbicolous Series of 2012. The images I used came from Wikimedia and are of the Victoria Crater on the plant Mars. The overlays are areal images of waterways in America that I also got from Wiki. The idea of this piece is to question the history of Mars. Did it support life? Did it have rivers that flowed into deep red seas? I love that we’ve sent a new rover Curiosity to Mars and I can’t wait to see what we all discover.
